I’m an interior designer (degree from the University of Kentucky – a great design program) with a passion for LIGHT so I went to graduate school at Parsons to study lighting design. Interned at the world’s largest interior design firm Gensler before developing a career at the custom lighting atelier MODULIGHTOR.
Being there for almost a full decade immersed in the world of legendary architect Paul Rudolph, the Modernist master, (he’s also from Kentucky, btw) was the best post-graduate education imaginable. I designed custom light fixtures for many of the AD100 – the leading interior designers, architects, lighting designers and decorators in New York City. Collaborating with those teams I learned A LOT. It was an amazing experience.

Photography has been a focus of my creative zeal even before design school. You can see me standing out front of the MODULIGHTOR building with a multitude of my images behind me on display in the front window and on the TV.
My love of lighting and photography finally came together in the form of pattern-making. Finding ways to infuse more color and pattern into my design palette I experimented with wallpapers and textiles until I developed a brand: WOWpapers.
It’s hard to spell my last name, so you can just call me Julien WOW.
